5,000 seedlings planted in the “Together for our forest” campaign of Intesa Sanpaolo Banka
Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica, Banja Luka, Tuzla, 16th November 2022, Celebrating the Earth Day on April 22nd, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka has launched a social responsibility campaign titled “Together for our forests”. The campaign was organised in such a way that, by opening a current account with our bank, every new customer gets a benefit of having one tree planted on his behalf. Resultantly, the afforestation action was performed today in Mostar, Sarajevo, Zenica, Banja Luka and Tuzla regions. Thus, on behalf our customers, we have planted seedlings of spruce, black and white pine and maple.
“So far, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka has organised several afforestation actions, but we are particularly proud of this one since it was performed on a mass scale, thus capturing 5 regions where our bank operates. Also, it is important to note that new customers of the Bank have recognised this campaign as very positive in terms of both, innovative approach and social responsibility.” said Lejla Dizdarević, Head of PR and Marketing Communications Department in Intesa Sanpaolo Banka, thus also adding: “Today’s afforestation action was performed jointly with representatives of forestry companies. The planted seedlings are the Bank’s welcome tokens to our new customers. We are also pleased with the fact that this action will leave a positive mark to the local community and to future generations as well.
Also, this action enjoyed support of employees of Intesa Sanpaolo Banka volunteering to work together with representatives of forestation companies – Sarajevo šuma, JP Šume TK, Šume Hercegovačko-neretvanske, Šumsko privredno društvo of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Šume Republike Srpske, to plant 5,000 new seedlings. Planting locations were the following – Ilinčica in Tuzlia, Hum hill in Mostar, Stranjanska river bank in Zenica, Dejčići near Sarajevo and Poniri near Banja Luka. With this campaign, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka ensured that the seedlings will improve the environmental situation in BiH, as well as air quality for the future generations.
