Intesa Sanpaolo only Italian bank named Global Innovator 2022
Intesa Sanpaolo has received the prestigious Qorus-Accenture Banking Innovation Award in the Global Innovator 2022 category.
The Qorus-Accenture Banking Innovation Awards highlight the most innovative projects, initiatives and ideas in banking globally. The nominees are directly selected by a group of their competitors, an international jury of industry experts who, following a rigorous and independent process, ensure the credibility of the awards, considered the industry’s “Oscars”.

In the Global Innovator category, Intesa Sanpaolo stood out among companies most committed to pursuing continuous innovation and transformation, developing a broad ecosystem of partners beyond the banking sector, and using emerging technologies to enhance the customer experience.
Intesa Sanpaolo, in particular, was distinguished by its excellent ratings for four innovative projects: Client Journey – Foreign Module, which structured an innovative, easy-to-use digital dashboard to support clients in the complex activities related to international trade; Eurizon Investo Smart ESG, which made it possible to propose new ways for Eurizon digital clients to invest in ESG funds autonomously, quickly and conveniently; BeFair, which developed a framework for measuring and mitigating any discrimination that might occur in the analyses and responses obtained through artificial intelligence systems; and Job Community, which created an informal community on the company intranet, where colleagues can network, sharing experiences and professional content, while also discovering and generating new ideas.
The diversity of the areas of the four projects highlighted by the Qorus-Accenture Banking Innovation Awards 2022 confirms how innovation pervades all areas of the Group’s business and governance, playing an essential role in the implementation of its business plans. This is the culmination of a long process, which in 2014 had already resulted in the creation of the Central Innovation Department, now a part of the Chief IT, Digital and Innovation Officer Governance Area headed by Massimo Proverbio, entrusted with implementing, adopting and promoting solutions with a strong innovative component to enhance the digital transformation and process efficiency and promote new service models with an approach centred on the needs of customers, internal and external to the Group.
Natascia Noveri, Head of Central Innovation Management, commented: “To be selected as one of Qorus-Accenture’s Global Innovator banks is a source of enormous satisfaction and confirms the validity of the work done to enable and support the Group in its constant process of innovation – an essential factor in responding optimally to the constant evolution of our clients’ needs in an increasingly dynamic, challenging international competitive environment. Special thanks go to our colleagues in the Areas and Divisions with which we collaborate, as well as to our multidisciplinary teams, consisting of colleagues with scientific, technical, economic, legal and humanistic backgrounds, who quickly identify, test and adapt the world’s most innovative technologies and fintech to the needs of the Group and its customers.”
