Sarajevo 26 April 2023, In the year it marks its jubilee, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka has decided to give its contribution to the city where its story has first started in this country by leaving a special footprint.  After trees have been cut down recently in down town Sarajevo due to their old age and damage they suffered from the last snowfall, thus leaving treetops deformed, an urgent intervention was needed.  In agreement with the and KJKP Park doo Sarajevo, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka has decided to donate new seedlings for this purpose. In addition to contributing to the air quality in Sarajevo, this will also contribute to the overall appearance as these are very beautiful and decorative trees.

“After having witnessed the cutting down of the old trees, we have contacted the urban green landscaping companies in Sarajevo.  Since we in Intesa Sanpaolo Banka pay great attention to the environmental protection and since we have planted 5,000 new seedlings over the course of last year, a logical course of action was to act promptly and provide for the new replacement seedlings, as this location also holds special relevance for us as the place of inception of our operations here 15 years ago” – said Mr. Michele Castoro, Deputy President of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank. He also added: “We are delighted that this new tree line will help improve the air quality in the coming years in Sarajevo and in BiH in general.”

This is not the only action of the sort that this Bank has supported.  So far, together with its employees, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka has planted great number of seedlings in BiH. Presently, the campaign “Together for our forests” is under way which will result in the forestation action as soon as weather conditions allow it.
