Pay contactless with Intesa Sanpaolo Banka’s Visa cards with Google Pay

Pay contactless with Intesa Sanpaolo Banka’s Visa cards with Google Pay

After an exceptionally successful year across all business segments that Intesa Sanpaolo Bank achieved in 2023, this Bank enters 2024 with a multitude of novelties.  The first of many is truly commendable – it’s about cooperation with Google and the introduction of Google Pay service that recently arrived in BiH market and refers to contactless payments with smart devices.

“Following up on the trends in the region and in BiH, in cooperation with Visa, we have worked very actively on introducing Google Pay services. So now, with the beginning of a new calendar year, we bring our customers an overly new experience.  We are sure that with this new payment method, which does not entail any kind of contact with cards, POS terminals – pin entry and the like, we will facilitate daily transactions for users of our services and thus make their payments faster, simpler and more secure”, said Ms. Minja Filipović, Executive Director of the Retail Division.

The payment option via Google Pay service will be provided to all holders of Visa Inspire and Visa Platinum cards of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, whereas the actual activation process is very simple.

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank’s Google Pay service is currently enabled for Android users with the operating system Lolipop 5.0 or its more recent version, which supports the NFC technology.

“Customers would need to have an active Visa Inspire or Visa Platinum card and make several adjustments to their mobile phone settings, such as the mandatory device lock setting, downloading Google Wallet from the Store and choosing Google Pay as the default payment option.  After having adjusted all the necessary settings, they need to open their Google Wallet and enter the data from their Visa card. After verification, customers can use your mobile wallet at all points of sale that support contactless payments and in online stores that offer the Google Pay option, as well as at contactless ATMs”, said Ajla Čengić, Team Leader at The Mass Client Department of Intesa Sanpaolo Banka.

Finally, we should say that Google Pay provides its users with the highest level of security when it comes to payments effected through this service.  In other words, during a mobile phone transaction, a token is shared with the merchant, not the real card number, so the card data is fully protected.   It also excludes the possibility of being charged for the same transaction twice, even if you pressed your mobile phone against the POS terminal for two times.  It is important to note that in case a mobile phone gets stolen or lost, using the “Find my device” application enables the user to lock the phone, enter a new password or even delete personal data altogether.
