This October in Sarajevo – a three-day football camp for children!

Sarajevo. 12.10.2022 – Intesa Sanpaolo Banka, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, and Atalanta Bergamo, a football club from Italy, are organising the Atalanta football camp for girls and boys ages 8 to 12. It is to be organised from 19th to 21st of October 2022 in the Centre for Education, Sport and Recreation – “Safet Zajko” in Sarajevo. Children will be given a chance to master all major football skills and tactics that will be presented by top notch coaches from Italy.

“Intesa Sanpaolo Group, as well as Intesa Sanpaolo Banka as the member of this largest banking group in Europe, are guided by principles of local community support in all their business segments. We support the socially disadvantaged population, health organisations, cultural and art institutions. We also look forward to an opportunity to help, i.e. do something for the young generations. It is my great pleasure to see that Atalanta has decided to organise this camp for the first time in BiH, thus joining efforts with our colleagues from the Bank to create these amazing 3 days for the children. What makes me especially happy is that on that day we will make sure that 120 girls and boys enjoy football. Also, by enhancing the culture of diversity, we will join children of our Bank’s employees, children of our corporate customers and children from the SOS Children Villages from BiH and the Institution for children without parental care “Bjelave”, as well as children applying for this event via online channels.” – said Mr. Marco Trevisan, President of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo Banka.

The Italian Ambassador in BiH, H.E. Marco Di Ruzza said that it makes him especially happy to see efforts being invested in youth, in sports in particular. On this occasion he stated the following:  “Activities of the Italian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially those related to projects of cultural diplomacy and development cooperation, basically have a dual purpose:  Further strengthening of already sound relations between our two countries and creating means to bring together different social components in BiH, especially the young population, thus overcoming ethnic and political barriers in order to support the conciliation process.  In this context, sport is an exceptional connective factor that perfectly fits both purposes.  Hence, we are glad to be supporting initiatives in this sector.  Therein, de Coubertin’s words that are clearly posted in the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo still have a strong echo and define the sport, and the Olympic spirit in particular, as an authentic endeavour that brings down all the barriers among people.

As for the Atalanta Football Camp, Mr. Romano Zanforlin, Marketing and Commercial Director, and Mr. Stefano Bonaccorso, Coordinator of the Basic Activity of the Youth Sector in Atalanta BC, as well as Mr. Rolando Bianchi Technical Associate in the Youth Sector in Atalanta BC said that they are particularly proud of their cooperation with the parent bank – Intesa Sanpaolo and of coming to Sarajevo this year to work with young people and show what we do best.

“I am particularly pleased with the fact that we will be working together with boys and girls of different ages to create a sound team spirit and master top football skills, thus ensuring that children from different social structures get involved in the work of this Camp and, in the end, taking along an unforgettable experience” – said Mr. Bianchi, also being a former player of Atalanta.

Participants of the Atalanta football camp, being organised for the first time in BiH, will have a chance to acquire football skills plus receive appropriate gifts and gear, as well as participation certificates and medals. The Camp enjoys support of our media partners: Nova BH, Dnevni avaz, RSG radio and sportsport.ba.
