Michele Castoro appointed for the new President of the Management Board of the Banks Association of BiH

At the constitutive session of the Management Board of the Banks Association of BiH (BABiH) held on January 29, 2025. Mr. Michele Castoro, President of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo Banka dd BiH, was appointed President of the Management Board of BABiH by a unanimous decision of all members.

Michele Castoro, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banks Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, brings with him over 20 years of extensive experience in the banking sector.

His banking career dates back to the early 2000s, during which he held various roles in management consulting, financial services, finance, and asset management at several banks operating in the Italian market. In addition to his previous position as Deputy CEO at Intesa Sanpaolo Banka d.d. BiH, Mr. Castoro has over 12 years of experience within the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. Mr. Castoro's professional background furthermore includes having held senior positions such as Deputy CEO and Director of the Risk Management and Control Division at Eximbank, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group in Moldova. In the period between July 2016 and August 2018, Mr. Castoro performed function of Director of the Risk Management Department at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank in Slovenia, while in the period from October 2012 until June 2016, Mr. Castoro performed function of Director of the Risk Management and Control Division at Pravex Bank, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group in Ukraine.

In October 2024, Mr. Michele Castoro was appointed as the President of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo Banka d.d. BiH.

Mr. Siniša Adžić, President of the Management Board of Nova banka ad Banja Luka, was appointed Vice-President of BABiH.

This Association has been actively operating for over 20 years, and its members are all commercial banks operating in the territory of BiH (21 in total), as well as two development banks.
